Prototyping Blog page 2
here be found pictures of a 128 board (still) in distress...
Topside overall view - The propeller sits in the 6845 slot - after a fashion... On the left 4MHz (soon to be 20) 8-bit Z80, on the right 8 x 32 bit cores at 20MHz each.
The ports view - 5v power, stereo sound, 3v power, composite o/p, usb
To avoid cutting the external bus some modifications were required!
Another overall top view
More ports showing some of the mechanical soldering technique :)
I like the colours okay...
No - they aren't going in, just here for another reason.
Tung Sol
Nearly booting... Perhaps I should explain that the wire tacked with professionals engineering adhesive materiel across the board is the serial output from the Lynx to the propeller which runs the terminal. I would have put a video of it booting to a ramtest screen but its broken again - perhaps next time.
You can just see on the RHS the slightly alarming sight of the SRAM chip hanging off the end of the EPROM socket.
Something else I wanted back in the 80's and it's taken 30 yrs to acheive - LED lights on the bank latch - I sooooooooooooooo wanted these...
... Bye for now ....
...As usual, any comments welcome ....
